Vittorio Ponzi was born in Atri (TE) on november 17, 1935. He was the youngest of 7 sons, and brother of the famous Tom Ponzi. Their mother was a capable seamstress and as their father was an excise officer, the family kept moving from city to city. They had lived in Pola, Termini Imerese, Atri, Cervia, etc., but in 1945 they decided to move to Bergamo, Northern Italy, because of the country impoverishment after the War.
Vittorio always felt admiration for Tom Ponzi, who let him join Mercurius Investigations. Tom founded his agency in 1948 in Corso Sempione, Milan. He later called it Tom Ponzi Investigations.
After the degree and the Military Service, Vittorio Ponzi founded his own agency. He did not open his office in Bergamo, but in Brescia. There he had met his future wife Clara Bagnalasta during his Military Service.
In 1957 Vittorio and Clara got married and one year later he obtained the license to work as private detective. He settled the office in Via dei Mille, in the city centre, but the first two years were more difficult than expected. In 1960 after efforts and sacrifices Vittorio finally became the owner of a successful Investigations agency.
In 1995 Vittorio Ponzi finally decided to pass the baton to his son Luciano, who still runs the company in Brescia.
